App-Tek was founded in 1992 to source air monitoring equipment from around the world and to concentrate on supplying that equipment for Occupational Health and Safety applications within Australia.

In July 2000, to focus on research, development and manufacturing of the OdaLog® gas logger, a new wholly owned entity "App-Tek International Pty Ltd" was established.

Following market acceptance in Australia for the OdaLog® product range within
the Waste Water Industry, international marketing activities commenced in
2003 with many distributors overseas been appointed due to the excellent acceptance of the OdaLog® brand in Asia, Europe and North America.

In 2007, App-Tek International Pty Ltd
was acquired by Biolab Group part of
Alesco Corporation Limited.

In April 2009, Thermo Fisher Scientific Ltd
acquired the Biolab Group from Alesco Corporation.
